OUR PROCESS

Following your enquiry, Billy or Scott will discuss your requirements and answer any questions you may have.

Based on this, and project type, we then carefully assess the work involved, calculate a fixed fee, and provide you with a comprehensive written proposal.

On acceptance of the proposal, we will then agree a start date (project kick-off), along with an estimated project completion date.

One dedicated consultant will be assigned to you from enquiry through to completion of the entire project, and will also support with the external certification body.

The certification body is responsible for carrying out the audits to confirm conformance to the international standard(s) you are wishing to be registered to.

These must work completely independent of the consultants* but we do help our clients with obtaining competitive quotations from a selection of a suitable certification bodies and assist with the planning and organisation of the stage 1 and stage 2 audits.

The initial certification audit is split into two sections:

Stage 1: This is where the auditor(s) need to satisfy themselves that the management system meets the requirements of the standard and the business is ready to move onto stage 2. It’s basically a desk audit and we try to get this carried out on a remote basis, where we send the system to the auditor and answer any questions he may have. This is included in the project fee.

Stage 2: Is focused on your business operations and the effectiveness of your processes and people. We are not really needed at this stage, however, some clients like us to be present on the day of the stage 2 audit. This can be discussed towards the end of the implementation project.

*The impartiality and objectivity of the accreditation services that UKAS provides is tightly controlled. All UKAS assessment personnel and externally contracted assessors, as well as members of UKAS committees, are required to declare any potential conflicts of interest.

Implementing any Management System (MS) is not an easy task and once certification is awarded, it would be a shame for all that hard work to go to waste. It is a requirement for management systems to be maintained so you get the maximum benefits from the system that has been so carefully developed for you.
